Notes | ||
Sarah Ogilvie and her husband emigrated from Aberdeen to New York in 17/3/1817 in the s ailing ship “Rose”. There had been a terrible storm and the ship was badly damaged so it stopped over in Halifax on 30/4/1817 for repairs. Sarah had been very ill on the voyage and refused to continue on to New York. So they settled in Halifax, Nova Scotia instead. It was their eldest son Dr. Thomas Ogilvie Geddes that enticed his cousin George Ogilvie Nicol to come to Clyde River, Nov a Scotia in 1852.
