Additional Info
Jane Tait was born circa 1780 in South Leith. Before he married and immigrated to Hobart, Australia, she had an illegitimate son to James Ogilvie (1796-1828). Their son Peter, sometimes Peter Boyne Ogilvie was born in 1816 St Cuthbert’s, Edinburgh. Jane is said to be a domestic servant. She takes to using Jane Ogilvie and calling herself a Window. She is living with her son Peter in Church Street, Lochgelly, Fife, Scotland in 1851 but doesn’t show on the 1861 census so it’s likely she died in the period between. |
