Notes | ||
Christian Patison was born in Edinburgh to Rev John Patison of Bristo Street congregation and Mitchell White who was from a mercantile family in Falkirk.
Christian married William Ogilvie Esq in 1797 at Edinburgh. William was an Ensign with the 11th Regiment on Foot on recruitment duties in Glasgow and Inverary at the time. William was taken prisoner by the French at Ostend in 1798 for over a year. In 1801 Christian gave birth to their first child Isabella Mitchell at Southampton. Then again in 1802 to Janet Murray at Glasgow. They didn’t have their son and heir until 1808 at Edinburgh. Sadly, Christian died in London in 1809 at Newington, Surrey, London. She was interred at St Mary, Newington, Surrey. Sir William later petitioned to exhume his late wife so she could be buried in the family burial ground at Boyndie Castle. I don’t believe the exhumation ever happened even though permission was granted because their daughter Janet Murray was later interested at St Mary, Newington in 1831. |
